Hike starts at 10am sharp, we recommend arriving at 9:30 to check in, get a bathroom break and get a park gift!

Description

Start the New Year in the right way, with beautiful outdoor hikes, fresh air, and a positive and exciting atmosphere! Auburn Valley will host a first-day hike this year again. 

Start the new year off right with a brisk interpretive first-day hike and shake off the holiday funk the right way. Bathrooms are available at the Auburn Heights Estate. 

This 3-mile guided hike begins at 10 am and has limited space. Pre-registration is required. Additional details are shared after registration is received. For more information please email Teresa.Pierce@Delaware.gov 


Hike Difficulty: Moderate The parking lot is grass and stone but the trail is entirely paved and smooth. Some moderate grade elevations. Good for those with strollers or limited mobility issues. Those in wheelchairs may have difficulty with the inclines without assistance.


Restrictions: Pets must be on a 6-foot leash (max) and good with large groups of people. Length of hike: 3 miles round trip although families and guests are not obligated to stay all three miles and can turn around early if little ones' legs get tired.
