Did you know Delaware has its own colony of harp, gray, and harbor seals? Last February, I braved the Arctic-like temperatures to go seal-watching with Cape Water Tours and the MERR Institute.
They are the team that gets called in if a wayward whale, dolphin, seal, or marine mammal ends up on a DE beach. During the 1.5-hour trip around the Delaware Bay, they recounted tales of rescuing seals and taught us a great deal about these marine mammals.
