MEET MICHELLE, THE CANDY QUEEN
We chatted with Michelle Duckett, Savor the Moment Owner & Operator, to learn how she and her husband are rolling out fun at events throughout the tri-state area. How did you guys start your business?
Savor The Moment was born out of a personal experience—my husband and I wanted to surprise our wedding guests with a fun, late-night treat experience. When we realized nothing like this existed in Delaware, we decided to create it ourselves! A common misconception is that it’s just about selling candy, but in reality, it’s about creating an experience that brings people together and makes events memorable.
What's the second biggest piece of event planning advice?
Always have a backup plan! Whether it’s weather, food options, or entertainment, flexibility is key to ensuring your event runs smoothly.
What's your bestselling package? Type of Candy?
Our Sweet Escape package is the bestseller! It’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory, combining candy, treats, and hot food. Guests love the variety and the fun, interactive experience of choosing their favorites. As for the most popular candy, Nerds Gummy Clusters, Haribo Gummy Bears, and Peanut M&Ms are top picks every time!

Favorite party that you've attended (cool theme, games, decor, etc.)?
One of the most fun parties we’ve been a part of was a carnival-themed birthday party. It had a popcorn machine, a dunk tank, and even a mini Ferris wheel for decorations. The guests loved the treat truck as a fun addition to the experience!
What kind of reactions do you get when you pull up?
Pure joy! People of all ages light up when they see the treat truck roll in. Whether it's kids running to pick out their favorite candy or adults reminiscing about their favorite childhood treats, the excitement is contagious. One time, a group of kids was so excited when we arrived that they ran outside without their shoes on, in the middle of winter! Their parents had to chase them back inside to get bundled up before they could grab their treats. The pure excitement was priceless!
What is your background?
I have a background in healthcare, operations, business, and event planning, which has helped me create and grow Savor The Moment into a brand that prioritizes both fun and flawless execution. My experience allows me to seamlessly blend organization with creativity, ensuring every event is stress-free, well-planned, and full of unforgettable moments!
What do you like best about events?
I love seeing people genuinely enjoy themselves. Bringing a fun and nostalgic experience to an event is so rewarding, especially when guests tell us we were the highlight of their night!
What song gets everyone on the dance floor?
“Yeah!” by Usher or “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston—both get the party going every time!
What trends are you seeing this year?
Personalization is huge! From custom treat boxes with names and event themes to curated snack selections, people want their events to feel unique and tailored to their guests. Late-night snacks and interactive food stations are also becoming more popular!
