DIY Gift Idea: Photo Coasters for Dad
We love this thoughtful gift that’s personal, practical, and kid-friendly to make. These DIY photo coasters are the perfect solution — and super affordable!
What You’ll Need:
- 4x4" ceramic tiles (cheap at most hardware stores!)
- Photos or kids' artwork, trimmed to tile size
- Glue stick
- Mod Podge
- Small foam brush
- Felt or self-adhesive felt pads (plus hot glue if using felt)
Instructions:
- Use the glue stick to attach a photo or artwork to the front of each tile.
- Add felt pads or glue felt squares to the bottom corners to protect surfaces.
- Apply 3 thin coats of Mod Podge over the top and sides, waiting 15 minutes between coats. It will dry clear.
- Let the coasters dry fully for at least 3 days before using — they’ll feel tacky until fully cured.
This coaster was made seven years ago and continues to be Dad's favorite.❤️
Whether your kids deliver a keepsake printable, a homemade gift, or just a solid punchline, we hope your Father's Day is filled with laughter and love.
