Brandywine Hundred Library Will Temporarily Close Starting Feb 1

The County Estimates That Construction Will Take Three Months

Starting February 1, the Brandywine Hundred Library will be closed for much-needed renovations. They will be replacing the current HVAC system as well as cleaning the ductwork. Plus, they will also be replacing the roof, which has experienced damage from ongoing leaks. The county estimates that this project will take three months.



What You Should Know


Holds: After February 1, holds will be redirected to Claymont or Woodlawn Library. Between January 24 and May 1, you won't be able to select Brandywine Hundred as a pickup location.


Extended Hours: During this time, the Woodlawn and Claymont Libraries will be extending their hours.


Claymont Library Hours of Operation:
Mon. - Thurs: 10 am to 9 pm
Fri. & Sat.: 10 am to 5 pm
Sun.: 1 pm to 5 pm
*Please note that Claymont also has a drive-up window that patrons will be able to take advantage of*

Woodlawn Library Hours of Operation:
Mon. – Wed.: 10 am to 9 pm
Thurs. – Sat.: 10 am to 5 pm
Sun.: 1 pm to 5 pm


Programs: Brandywine's staff will be working from other branches. Keep checking Claymont and Woodlawn's calendars for updated events.


Wi-Fi: Even though the building will be closed, there will still be free Wi-Fi in the parking lot.
