A little more about me and our favorite playground to visit!

Whether you are a long-time Wilmington native or new to the area, there is always something to learn about for you and your family to enjoy!  As a transplant from Chester County, Pennsylvania, I’ve found that while we were not that far away (minutes only!) the Wilmington of my childhood is much different than what we have now, and I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of the exciting events and activities that come up as we go!

Welcome to Macaroni KID - Wilmington - New Castle!  I’m so glad you’ve decided to join me on this journey of discovering what our area has to offer us in enriching our children’s lives and giving us the much needed break from feeling like we constantly need to think up new things to entertain them.  I’ll be updating our Events page regularly so be sure to look at that every week.  Also, be sure to check your emails regularly because Thursdays will be for newsletters!  From activity reviews to interesting things to do with your child in a snow-storm, each week I will be providing you with the upcoming, the exciting and even a bit of random humor to carry you through your week.

This week we are headed to Can-Do Playground after Pre-K.  I’ve been promising this activity for weeks but I’m a wimp in the heat, and it looks like summer has finally broken in Wilmington!  If you haven’t been to Can-Do Playground, it’s at 4261 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803.  As part of Delaware State Parks, it requires $4 to park.  This playground was designed to be accessible for children of different abilities and different ages.

My 4 year old loves balancing on the stepping posts and singing to me through the talking tubes set up around the playground.  I love the Little Free Library where we are always sure to leave a book and take a book.  Our current favorite bedtime story, Curious George, actually came from the Can-Do Playground Library!

If you have another local playground recommendation I’d love to hear about them...Email Me!
